Be very careful with this application. It appears to offer you the option to complete games/challenges for a reward of money after you pay to join the game in the first place. I completed my first game successfully and received nothing but the app encourages me to join another game for more money yet. I also had to pay a fee to join the app. It is a scam! Be careful!

Find a different option to support your health journey. This app is a ripoff - high cost membership, small payout for winning games, and no resolution for participants who attempt to submit activities for challenges but are unable due to connection challenges while traveling. You’d have to complete nearly 60 challenges every 6 months based on the average payout to earn back your membership fee, and that is if you never miss a photo upload even if you’ve completed an activity - because believe me, customer service won’t help. Since challenges are MOSTLY 2 weeks each, you have to be in at least 3 at all times. Plus many challenges are honor-system based anyway, so there’s no true validation but then they’re sticklers about it anyway.

Also, I did a quick search of users leaving positive reviews of the app, and 5/6 that I search WORK FOR WAYBETTER, including the CFO, Lead Scientist, a Product Manager, etc. Don’t believe these biased reviews.

I have been using the app for 5 months to keep myself accountable. I have won back the money I paid for the six months plus about $60 extra, but more importantly, I have been succeeding in better habits. The financial incentive works for me. I have lost 6 pounds and have a much tidier house! I just cancelled my renewal because I am going to be out for a bit, and was at first confused because I could not find a cancel option in the app, but then realized as I subscribed from Google Play, I needed to cancel it there. Once I figured it out, it was no problem to cancel, but it would have been nice if it would have said that somewhere in the apps cancel section. Be sure to read all the fine print for each game so you know what you need to do to win.

I downloaded the app and was willing foe the 1 week trial. As soon as I open the app, everything I'd get the blurb to start a paid plan and it wouldn't leave the page. When going via the website (via phone), it would be endless before I could even see if there was an unsubscribe option at bottom. Finally got to support email and requested cancel. If it doesn't cancel by the date ending my trial, another review awaits. It's always something to make a little money to get healthy. 🙄

I love the WayBetter app! It is such a unique and fun way to motivate yourself to achieve your nutrition and exercise goals. I've really enjoyed playing in the games, especially the walking games. You can put a small amount of money on the line for each game and you only get it back (plus a profit!) if you do all the game activities. I find that it definitely keeps me accountable, because I don't want to lose that money! I also love the social aspect. The game hosts post fun questions and discussion topics and everyone in the feed is super supportive of each other. I get lots of ideas for recipes and workouts from other players' posts.

I signed up for the seven day trial, and after I looked at the app realized that I didn’t like it – that it was too confusing. They not only charged me the 69.99 fee but also continued to charge me for the $15 monthly fee. They have no customer support on the phone, and you can only write them an email. Then they say to write above the hashtags, and when you do that and you click above the hashtags you are taken right to their website. I have had to fight this with my bank card, and they are a disreputable company completely. Do not click anything in their website.

Do not sign up with this company they promise you a free trial and easy cancellation but then when you request them to cancel, they won’t do it and instead refer you to your payment source i.e. Apple Pay.
And they will draft your account anyway and accept the money although they know you contacted them to cancel.
Also, the free trial is deceitful because most of the games will take about a week to start so there’s not much you can sign up for with the free trial. I would not recommend them to anyone. I searched the website a little and most of the free advice they give you on the website for a paid membership you can find online for free..
