I'm a hobbyist and have been using DeskProto for about 5+ years. It's a very good, easy to use software. I mainly use for carving on wood, but also used on metal. Strongly recommend this application. Axe wood handles is what I made using DeskProto. The engraving metal was done by hand under the microscope. (See my photos). The price is excellent, customer service is great too. Every time I reached out to them, they promptly responded. I hope they will keep pricing and terms similar in the future.

DeskProto is really, really good. It manages to make common CNC operations intuitively configurable, such that you can get things done in 1/10th the time it'd take to read the manuals and tutorials of other CAM packages. It also works well for large machines and steel cutting, not just simple wood art. The 4-axis mode works great.

I am a happy user in Canada!! I looked long and hard for a CAM software for both personal and small business use for my Sienci LongMill Mk2 30x40, and as a newer user to CAM software but experienced with CAD DeskProto seemed like a great fit (capability, user-friendliness, cost and perpetual license!!). It has been WONDERFUL to use and the in-program help/guidance that it offers has been very helpful to expediting my learning of it. I highly highly recommend DeskProto!!!

With my previous software I was limited to XYZ axis projects on my CNC Router. Now with DeskProto I have added my "A" rotary axis and I am now able to produce beautiful 3D models such as furniture legs, spindles, assorted novelty items etc. DeskPro makes it easy to expand my CNC Router capablilities!

As strange as it might be for a 5 star review I'm going to start off with what I don't like and get it out of the way. The look and feel of DeskProto is straight out of the 1990's and I really hope it gets a major interface update in the next release.
Second and final complaint is that it can be downright intimidating at times due to how much it will do and how much control it gives you. That's it for the negative, let's move on to the good.
Simply stated, DeskProto has no real competition when it comes to hobby level 4th axis CNC work. There are very functional wizards that lead you through setting up a job and it is as close to foolproof as something like this could possibly be.
Beyond 4th axis work DeskProto has tools that I don't see in other software packages that can solve some problems straightway. I can't recommend it enough for anyone doing hobby and simipro CNC work.

Ik gebruik het alleen om freesbanen te berekenen voor 3 en 4 assige bewerkingen, zeer tevreden mee.
