The sales people were extremely attentive and responsive. We got a subscription that worked for a bit and then they added an extension that caused the program not to work for us. Terrible customer service. We got routed around to different people. At the same time we had numerous staff on our end working to try and figure it out. Screencastify customer service kept opening "support tickets" without really reading the history of where we were in the process so it became a circular discussion that never resolved anything. We are a small non profit that heavily relies on video working with students who all use sign language. I asked about the possibility of providing us a prorated credit because we could no longer use the product and needed to find something else. They did not have the courtesy to even respond to my request saying they couldn't do that. There are other companies that do the same thing and I would recommend going with someone else. This company is terrible. Don't use them.

Like many on here, I bought the Pro Version, perpetual license, years ago. I liked the simplicity, and did not use it a lot. I have opened support tickets to let them know that I am displeased with the fact that I paid full the Pro version and am now stuck on the Free version. They keep closing them. I have asked for my money back, as they are not providing what I paid for. I am sure I won't get it, but it is more a matter of principle. I have found that Snagit has a perpetual version for about $60. That beats a $120 per year subscription, in my eyes.

I used to love Screencastify from November 2022 to December 2023 for virtual learning, asynchronous classes, and creating video lessons. It was easy to use—until my program decided to purchase it. Ever since then, it’s been nothing but problematic.

Tech support deserves 0 stars. I’ve submitted numerous help tickets, and they were completely unhelpful. We would go back and forth until things got lost in translation, and then they would just close the ticket without resolving the issue. We’ve had constant problems with the extension, and there are so many errors behind the scenes that make it unusable.

Highly disappointed. What was once a great tool has now become a frustrating experience.

I have been using Screencastify for years. I had the paid subscription. With the updated version I now have less features, at least the main one I used. They removed the option to customize recording times. The options are now 2, 5, 10, 30, and 60 minutes. With the previous version I could set specific times such as 93 minutes. My original subscription cost was $2/month with an annual subscription. The price went up to $7/month with an annual subscription. (SIDENOTE: my cost was $3.50/month, I guess because I was grandfathered from the old subscription). Either way, this didn’t work for me because with this STARTED plan, I could only record up to 60 minutes/recording. I had to update to PRO so that I can record up to 120 minutes/recording. Either way, it still doesn’t work. I can only record 60 minutes/recording. My monthly cost went up by a factor of 5 from my original plan but I’m getting less, and the crummy thing has too many bugs. Earlier today, one of my recordings suddenly stopped recording after 50 minutes. I am disappointed with Screencastify right now.

This was a 5 star app. Minus 1 star for price jump (from $2 to $10 to get the same features). Minus 1 star for removing the best feature they had. Minus 1 star for how unstable the application is.

Unethical company that does not honor its commitments. I've been a user since 2016, purchased their LIFETIME plan at the time, which was now "sunsetted" and blamed on Google - now demanding a monthly fee. That's not how LIFETIME plans work. Hope your greed comes back to haunt you. Do not do business with this company, there are many many many apps like this now - don't reward this behavior with your money, go elsewhere.

I have been utilizing this program for my educational program for a long time until the extension was added. The first couple of months with the extension, it was fine. However, ever since I have never been able to record. I keep getting "Uh oh, something is wrong". Support was very terrible. Kept telling me to do the same thing over and over. Every time, I uninstalled, I inputted my email address for reason for uninstalling and would uninstall. No one really got back with me. Sales department tried so hard to get me assistance which is why I left one star. I ended up purchasing a different platform to utilize. VERY DISAPPOINTING because this concept was great especially with the ability to resize video and move it to where I need it.

(college student here) A teacher of mine had us use this for a book review, and it automatically turned the google classroom assignment in when i finished recording so i had to unsubmit it to make any edits to my written review.

would be 4 stars if i as a student could toggle it.

Not working at all today - sharing links just do not work for anyone. Tip of the iceberg, it's been truly awful for all of 2024 since their "upgrade".

Working with tech teams is hard, I know - theirs has broken their product in 2024. We'll be moving away from it, just a pain to migrate all the videos we need out, could do without the hassle but it must be done - awful product, gets embarrassing with all the sharing that just fails.

And their customer care team want to waste my time with meetings about it despite giving them all the video evidence they need to fix it - not my problems folks, I'm not a paid product tester just get on and fix it.
